What will you first notice on the Wolfsonian–Florida International University or the Wolfsonian is its exterior design, located in the heart of the Art Deco District. Its impressive architecture makes it attractive to visitors, and this is the first public building to have installed AC. The founder of the museum, Mickey Wolfson, was an ex an ex diplomat, an author and philanthropist crated the museum in the spirit of his upbringing and collector’s taste. It all began in a Paris hotel room when Wolfson began his ‘collector’ career by taking the keys of the room with himself.

With white façade and modern design, the museum does stand out. There are a museum, a library and a research center in the building. The Wolfsonian has over 200.000 exhibits. There you can see American and European decorative and fine arts from the period between 1850 and 1950. This is the museum’s focal point. It displays a trip to the modern age through art. Its magnificent collection comprises furniture, industrial design artefacts, books, paintings. clothes, medals, sculptures, cutlery etc.

There is a café-bar in the museum with relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where you may notice some elements of the museum, as well as a gift shop when you can buy a souvenir for your loved ones, which design was also inspired by the museum.

The entrance fee is 12 USD
The opening hours of the museum: cafe and shop are from Saturday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
