Jungle Island is an eco-adventure park located on Watson Island. It was formerly known as Parrot Jungle. It was opened in 1936, but in a different location. It has been in its current location since 2003. It was founded by Francis Scherr, and it is one of the oldest attraction of such kind in Florida. When the ‘jungle’ where birds fly freely was opened, there were various species of trees and flowers. A ticket cost 25 cents. Since 1936, over a million people have visited the park.
You may encounter different animal species there, such as: crocodiles, tortoises, snakes, African penguins, flamingos, parrots, lemurs. You have a chance to feed the animals, listen stories about them, watch various presentations and learn something at the end of the day. Besides exotic animals, there are also exotic plants. As in every adventure park, there are also attractions, such as waterslides, a zip line, but also restaurants. It is a perfect place to spend time with your family, where everyone will have fun.
