Amuseument Park Prater

The Prater is not only a big wheel of Vienna, but it is a big part of Vienna that takes up the surface of 6 million square metres, and there is also an amusement park there called “The Wurstelprater” which is the oldest park of this kind in the world. The famous Viennese wheel, known as The Prater, is an unavoidable place for fun in Vienna and it even has the most beautiful view of the city. In one year, 4 million people visit the Prater. A long time ago, the property on which the Prater is today belonged to Joseph II and it served for his hunting. In 1766, this area became a space for fun and recreation for Viennese people and of public character. Many restaurants, cafes and carousels opened here.

A world exhibition in Vienna was first opened in the Prater and there was also a park there under the name of “Venice in Vienna”, where visitors would ride in gondolas. The main attractions are carousels, rollercoasters, houses of horror, bumper cars, selling balloons filled with helium and music and parties everywhere. The big white wheel was made in 1897, and it was destroyed in World War II. In 1947, the Prater was rebuilt and today it is the oldest wheel for panorama sightseeing in the world, bearing in mind those that have existed since World War II. The wheel is 65m high, and its speed is 2.7km per hour.

Family ticket for 4 family members is 26 €

Most of the tickets that are combined tickets, in addition it also include a visit to the Madame Thousand Museum or the Schonbrunn Zoo.
