Vienna:

The Danube Tower

The Danube Tower

The Danube Tower is the highest Austrian landmark which is 252m high  and thus 59th highest tower in the world. It was designed by Hannes Lintl, with the purpose of preparing everything for International Viennese Horticultural Fair. It was built in 1964, and it is located on the north bank of the Danube river.

Using a fast lift, you reach a balcony that is 150m high in order to see an unforgettable panorama of Vienna. The ride in a lift lasts for 35 seconds only, and for the transport of visitors there are two such lifts in which 14 people at a time are allowed. If you want to go on foot, you will have 779 stairs in total. However, the stairs are not always allowed or even recommended to use.

The view from this perspective is powerful and amazing. The tower is located in a big beautiful Danube park, so this is one of the reasons why visitors choose to visit the tower. The tower has mobile phone network antennas, VHF radio stations, and although it seems to have a TV transmitter, it is not used for these purposes.

Apart from the recognizable viewpoint, two beautiful restaurants are here, as well- one is a luxurious restaurant Turm-Restaurant and there is a casual café-bar Turm-Café. They are located at the height of 169m and 161m. There is a spectacular view from both objects- a lunch with a view of the magnificent Vienna is something that everyone finds pleasant.
