Mostar is the city where numerous events are held during the year, however the best and most popular festivals are usually organized during summer, from May to August. Given that the number of visitors to the city of Mostar is increasing every year, number of festivals is constantly growing. Mostar events offer music, theater to cultural events and sports.
The Mostar Summer: a manifestation where poetry is read, and here we firstly mean Santic's poetry. Then, as part of this event, the Festival of Choirs / Ensembles of Bosnia and Herzegovina is held as well. The first festival was held in 1991 from May 11-17, and its participants were: Sarajevo National Theater, National Theater of Bosnian Krajina, Tuzla, Mostar, Zenica, etc. This year it will be held from July 17 to August 22, and we would like to suggest our visitors not to miss it.
The Mostar's Fox is a comedy festival initiated by Ahmet Obradović in 1991. During this festival, prizes with an unusual names were awarde such as "Big Fox"; "Little Fox." Mario Drmać was named the best young actor of the Festival for his role in the play "Bug in the Ear" by the Youth Theater from Sarajevo. Festival is usually organized in the mid September. This festival is mainly visited by locals and visitors from other Balkan countries given the fact that all performances are held in local language.
MOSTAR BLUES & ROCK FESTIVAL has been held since 2003 and lasts only two days. As its name suggests, the "ROCK" festival has hosted many local and foreign stars such as Ten Years After, Dr. Feelgood, Tito & Tarantula, Josipa Lisac, etc. It is held in July.
MOSTAR FAIR - this is one of the most successful exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina with over 40,000 visitors per year. Festival is held in April. New models of cars, technologies, computers, but also new activities related to tourism and gastronomy were presented at the fair.
MOSTAR SUMMER FESTIVAL is a festival that takes place in June and lasts only three days. It presents various music genres such as rock, hip hope, punk and electronic music. It takes place during the summer in the industrial zone in Mostar, and the city administration has organizes free transpor for visits during the Festival.
