Park Špica is in a very good location, it is located next to the path along the river Ljubljanica, not far from the eastern part of the city. It has a beautiful view of the riverbed with trees on the side. It is close to the Botanical Garden, an d you have some bars where you can sit and enjoy the ambience that surrounds you along the way. A place that relaxes. It is made of the embankment of the river Ljubljanica, and was named after the shape of the embankment "pointed peak - Špica". The former site of today's park was the city beach. Špica is a large area park with a lot of greenery but also has a concrete part. It is very pleasant and attracts many tourists to stay in it, and all lovers of sunbathing during the summer days.
In 2009, a bridge suitable for cyclists and walkers was built next to the park. It is 38 meters long and connects the city with the green suburbs where the Botanical Garden is located.
The bridge is named Hladnikov bridge. The proximity of the river makes the park very popular.
You have a cafe in the park that bears the same name as the park – Špica.
