Ljubljanica River

When we say Ljubljana, we think of the river Ljubljanica which is sung in Prešeren's song Povodni mož. The Ljubljanica is a river which is 41 km long and flows through the capital of Slovenia. It is a tributary of the Sava and it inflows near Zalog. Its spring is near Vrhnika and the village of Verd, and the main springhead is Močilnik.

The Ljubljanica is suitable for tourist boats, but not for some larger ones. We recommend that you sit in a cafe or restaurant along the river Ljubljanica and enjoy its beautiful shores. We suggest you try some liqueur, and a glass of Slovenian wine is always a good choice when you are here.
