Fans of the view of the city from the buildings will find a building ideal for that in Ljubljana, Nebotičnik/Neboder (Skyscraper). A unique experience of the city from a bird's eye view. This tall building made of reinforced concrete is recognizable in Slovenia for its height of 70.35 meters. It is the work of Slovenian architect Vladimir Šubica. It is located in the center of Ljubljana, and it was the tallest building in Yugoslavia and the ninth in Europe at the time it opened in 1993. It is still one of the most important landmarks in Ljubljana with its thirteen floors.
The building has sculptures by Lojze Dolinar on the side at the height of the sixth floor, and also by Boris Kalin and France Gorše. It is designed in neoclassical and art-deco style, and the upper floors are in pilasters. There is Karst marble in the hall. You can use the elevator to go up the floors, but we recommend using the spiral staircase located in the middle of the building. The staircase ends on the 11th floor. The building houses business centers, shops, private accommodation and there are cafes, a lookout and a restaurant on the top floors.
Because of its appearance, some residents of Ljubljana called it a freak because it demolished the style of construction until then. It was built on the site of a medieval monastery, and while they were preparing for construction, it was found chosen from the 13th century.
It is considered a cultural heritage and in today's beautiful ambience it always invites all guests to enjoy drinking coffee or tea or one of the meals with a wonderful view of city events.
