Zrinjevac is a city park in Mostar. It was named after Zrinski. It is located between Trg hrvatskih velikana, Španjolski trg and Nikola Šubića Zrinski Street. It covers an area of about 3 hectares. It was built in 1953 and Smiljan Klaić is the architect and author of the project according to which the park was built. In 1927, a survey was conducted on the function of green areas in Mostar and Zrinjevac then received a grade of 4 (out of a maximum of 5) for hygiene, aesthetics and general functionality. That year, 314 trees with 31 tree species were listed. In 2007 it was completely renovated. Today, this is a favorite place for walks of Mostar and tourists. It is not a recommended place for children to play because in the evening dog walkers bring their dogs to defecate there.
Since 2016, the park has been adorned with an Easter egg 2 meters high, which shows motifs from Herzegovina and children in community, and represents a birth. The Easter egg was built by students and professors of the Gabrijel Jukić High School of Fine Arts. The production lasted 30 days with the work of 6 professors and 6 students. The entire project was monitored and implemented with the help of the city of Mostar. Radmila Komadina, the main advisor to the mayor of Mostar, ceremoniously opened the Easter egg (an egg decorated with paint and a symbol of new life and the resurrection of Jesus).
