The Old Town of Trebinje was built in the 18th century by the Ottoman Empire after the fall of Risan and Herceg Novi under the Venetian Republic.Osman Pasha, the founder of the Resulbegović family, was the most deserving for the development of the city and the entire trade structure in it. The masters who worked on the city plan were mostly brought from Dalmatia, ie nearby Dubrovnik. During Osman Pasha, a canal was built around the old town, two mosques, Sultan Ahmed's and Osman Pasha's mosque, as well as a clock tower that still adorns the old town.

The Park "Jovan Ducic" is one of the most recognizable symbols of the city of Trebinje. It covers an area of 28,000 m2. What especially attracts the attention of visitors is the incredible arrangement of the park as well as the rich cultural monuments that additionally add value to the park. Ducic himself started planting trees. The great poeth loved his city very much and wanted to create a real green oasis that he had the opportunity to see in  other Europan cities.

Trebinje plane trees - Plane trees are one of the most recognizable symbols of Trebinje. The square where they are planted is one of the most beautiful attractions in Trebinje. Here, visitors can relax in the shade of plane trees during hot summer days. The garden is actually a kind of promenade where all generations of people from Trebinje meet.

The Cathedral of the Holy Transfiguration of the Lord is located in the very center of the town of Trebinje, in the Jovan Dučić Park. The temple was built between 1888 and 1908. There are several architectural styles in the temple, primarily Gothic and Byzantine style.

Arslanagića bridge or Perovića bridge is not an ordinary bridge. This is one of the most famous monuments from the period of the Turkish rule in Trebinje and represents a significant masterpiece from the 16th and 17th centuries. There is a lot of controversy about the origin of the bridge, ie about its builder.

The Imperial Mosque or Sultan Ahmed Mosque is located in the Old Town (Kastel), not far from the main (western) gate and city walls. It was built of hewn stone and covered with a hipped roof in imitation of a dome under eternit. An octagonal stone minaret, 16 m high, was erected along the right wall and was one of the most beautiful in Herzegovina.

Tvrdoš Monastery is a cultural and historical treasure of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The monastery is dedicated to the Assumption of the Mother of God and is the most important monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The name Tvrdoš refers to a "hard place" because of its "invincibility" - it was built on the rocks with a beautiful view of the river Trebišnjica.

Hercegovacka Gracanica is located on a hill above Trebinje and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Trebinje. Hercegovacka Gracanica was built according to the wish of the famous poet Jovan Ducic. The wish was read when Ducic's will was opened. The poet wanted to rest on a hill above his beloved city in a church that would be similar to Gracanica from Kosovo and Metohija, which was built by King Milutin in 1321.
