Vienna:

The Belvedere gardens

The Belvedere gardens

Belvedere gardens are another beautiful park in Vienna. They are located between the upper and lower Belvedere palaces. Both the palaces and the gardens were built in the style of rich baroque, at the beginning of XVIII century- the whole place is very romantic and looks lavish. These baroque gardens were built by the design of a French man Dominique Girard , who was one of the most famous architects for decorating the exterior and the gardens. This architect also did the garden of the Versailles Palace near Paris, therefore these gardens are reminiscent of the Versailles and Paris.

Apart from the perfectly trimmed greenery and different shapes, there are also here some colourful flowers that are taken care of everyday by experienced gardeners. Walking paths are tidily decorated and they are wide. There are numerous sculptures and fountains here. The view from the upper part of the palace is wonderful and many visitors take photos on this place because in the background you can see a perfectly arranged park and the lower palace.

Next to this park, there is a smaller one, characterized by the fact that it has only those plants that are taken from the Alps. Bonsai flowers are something that tourists love to see here. This park was built in the same period as the Belvedere palace, and the special charm it has was given to it by Maria Theresa, whose wishes regarding the arrangement and the appearance of the park were granted.

A big space, numerous colours, and an arrangement without a flaw make this park very beautiful for walking there, after visiting the Belvedere palace.
