The Palace Graden - Burggarten

The Burggarten Park stands out as one of the most attractive parks to visit. What makes it stand out is its impeccable tidiness and the fact that it belonged to the Court once. The Burggarten is the most interesting park in Vienna. The initiator for building this park was Emperor Franz I, and the park was built in 1819. Up until 1919, this park was a private court park, and then the public was allowed to spend their free time there.

The monuments here are dedicated to Franz Joseph I and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In front of Mozart’s statue, on a meadow made of flowers there is a huge violin key, which visitors find especially interesting.

On the eastern part of the park, there is an unusual building called Palmenhaus. It is a glass building inside of which there is an interesting attraction, which is the reason why visitors love this park, and that is a house of butterflies, in which you can watch butterflies of different dimensions, types and colours and there are over 100 of them.

  • This park is an ideal place for picnic; you can bring some sheets and spend your time nicely and pleasantly.
  • The price for entering the House of Butterflies for adults is 7 euros. The elderly pay 6 euros, whereas children have some benefits, so they pay 4 euros.
