Dulce de Leche or milk cake, is the perfect cake to try on your trip to Argentina. It is made of condensed milk which, when mixed with sugar, creates a dense caramel sauce, to which vanilla is added to amplify the taste further. This is often served as a cake or ice cream topping, or added as an extra layer on an empanada. As there is no default way of eating this delicious paste, you can use it on pastry, ice cream, or even eat it alone, with a spoon, and no way is less enjoyable than another.
